This one of the most effective methods to help control excessive underarm sweating! Briefly calming your whole body will loosen tension, reduce stress, and hopefully prevent the adrenaline rush associated with nerves and tension. If your body is in an agitated state then you are far more likely to sweat. Ironically, people who are prone to excessive underarm sweating, or suffer from Hyperhidrosis, will often get more anxious when they feel themselves starting to sweat.
This increases the adrenaline response, and consequently increases the sweat. While using calming techniques will not totally solve the problem if it is a medical issue, it can help to reduce the effects and give you some control if there are no alternatives readily available. Of course there are other ways in which you can be prepared. If you only suffer from excessive underarm sweating, it may not seem like it, but you are actually a lot better off than a lot of people who suffer from sweating on their heads and hands, which is a lot more difficult to treat. There are many more easy options to deal with excessive underarm sweating. The alternative that nearly everyone should be aware of is deodorant.
Almost everyone in the Western world uses a deodorant now, but fewer people are aware that these come in a range of strengths to suit different body types. To curb underarm sweating, there are products available such as Drysol which are designed to deal with excess sweating rather than the ’normal’ amount. They contain more of the active ingredient, Aluminum Chloride and therefore have more sweat preventing properties. You can also control it by using specially formulated wipes which are designed to remove sweat, as well as drying invisibly on the skin and providing extra protection to go with the deodorant.
These are fantastic for freshening up during the day when a full wash is not an option, and are made to be easily portable for convenience. For a more permanent solution, a treatment such as Botox can be used. Botox is the most expensive of the options so far, but is longer lasting, and particularly effective on the underarms; other areas of the body can be more adversely affected by Botox injections, but the armpits tend to respond fairly well to Botox considering the invasive nature of the treatment.
Armpits also respond well to measures such as wearing loose clothing made of light, natural materials such as cotton. Many people wear synthetic fabrics which cling around the arms and armpits and cause excessive underarm sweating. This should be avoided in order to get the best results from any excessive underarm sweating treatment. These are some of the top tips for preventing underarm sweating. You can try them and see for yourself. But remember; if they don’t work then consult a doctor to find your best alternative, and to diagnose any underlying problems.
